DOCUMENTARY EXHIBITION YEAR 2022

1. Permanent informational exhibition at the former internment camp in Tepelenë, on February 14, 2022, organized by AIDSSH and the International Commission on Missing Persons, in cooperation with the Municipality of Tepelenë, at the conclusion of the ICMP-AIDSSH project “Raising public awareness on transitional justice and reconciliation: The missing under communism,” supported by the EU and the Swiss Embassy. It was prepared using research material from the Institute of History and archival data on the internees in the barbed-wire camp of Tepelenë. Also included were valuable sketches that photographically depict life in the camp, masterfully created by Lek Pervizi, who was interned in Tepelenë. The information was presented in Albanian and English for all camp visitors.

2. Permanent informational exhibition on the former labor camp in Maliq held on February 17, 2022, organized by AIDSSH and the International Commission on Missing Persons, in cooperation with the Municipality and Municipal Council of Maliq, at the conclusion of the ICMP-AIDSSH project, “Raising public awareness on transitional justice and reconciliation: The missing under communism,” supported by the EU and the Swiss Embassy. The exhibition was prepared based on research of archival data on the convicted individuals in the Orman-Pojan and Vloçisht labor camps.

 

3. Virtual exhibition “The Sigurimi in its own words”. AIDSSH presented the book with testimonies about the missing and the virtual exhibition “The Sigurimi in its own words”, in the new premises near the Skënderbej garrison, on February 24, 2022.

4. Exhibition “Remembrance Path / Udha e Kujtesës” held on May 26, 2022, in Lushnjë. The exhibition was organized within the framework of the project “Profiles of the Past: The Struggle for Freedom and Democracy during Hoxha’s Regime,” carried out by the University of Tirana, La Sapienza University of Rome, Fondazione di Storia Onlus, the association “Zëri Qytetar,” and ISEM.
