The Authority for Information on Former State Security Documents is organizing on April 2nd at 11:00 AM the next event as part of “Open File - Tirana in the Eyes of State Security.” This event will focus on addressing the figure of Lejla Gjinali Beshiri and her history in the context of political persecution by the communist regime.
Lejla Gjinali Beshiri is the daughter of Tahir Gjinali, a former student of the technical school “H. Fullzi” and convicted together with Lutfi Strazimiri, Andrea Xega, Mustafa Greblleshi, and others.
Lejla worked as a piano teacher. In 1986, after the death of Enver Hoxha, she was interned along with her husband and one of her daughters, who had just given birth to a child.
At this event, archival documents shedding light on this period and its impact on the lives of affected individuals will be presented. Additionally, the importance of opening the files to better understand the past and to assist in the process of educating and raising awareness in society will be discussed.
We invite all those interested to participate and contribute to this important dialogue about history and justice.
