First, the students were introduced to the archive, and then in the “Musine Kokalari” library hall, they watched the AIDSSH documentary “Three Days of Freedom,” which centers on the story of the political prisoners' revolt in the Spaç prison camp. Afterwards, they became familiar with the children’s book *The Sun Rises in Spaç*, which focuses on the unraveling of the dictatorship and the denied human rights, using this event as its foundation.
Based on the role the Authority has taken in civic education for the public and pre-university students, AIDSSH, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Sports (MAS), has promoted visits to the institution to familiarize them not only with the archive but also with the dark historical period the country experienced under dictatorship.
The Authority is developing the educational platform “Learning from the Past – Open Educational Resources 1944–1991,” which aims to assist teachers of history, citizenship, and literature in conveying these events to students in the pre-university education system.
Preserving collective memory and promoting a culture of critical thinking are indispensable parts of building democratic values and human rights in the country.
